Do you have a mastiff? If so, you are a truly lucky pet owner! Mastiffs are some of the greatest pets in the world. Incredibly loyal and affectionate with their families, they also make great guard dogs.
However, finding a dog bed for this hulking animal can be a difficult chore. Obviously, you will need a large bed for your mastiff! Most dog beds come in sizes marked extra-small, small, medium, large, and extra-large. Whichever breed of mastiff you have, an adult dog will most likely require the extra-large size.
Once you have decided on a size, you must choose which style is most suited to your dog. Dog beds are usually either round, square, or donut-shaped. Dogs who spread out when sleeping will do fine with either a round or square pillow-style bed. The shape is inconsequential; just get whichever one you prefer. A donut-shaped bed is great for a dog who likes to curl up and get "cozy." Be careful when choosing one of these for a mastiff, though, as it may be hard to get one big enough.
Some dog beds are even available for special needs. If your mastiff is elderly, a heated bed will help ease any aches and pains associated with his aging. Some mastiff owners find that their dog seems to inadvertently destroy every dog bed they get. There is a bed even for these dogs! It is a patented heavy-duty dog bed called the Kuranda. You can search for these online.
Though it may take some time and effort to find the right bed for your mastiff, it is well worth it. After all, how much fun to be around would you be if you slept on the hard floor every night?
